1969 Antenna
« on: December 04, 2014, 03:49:47 PM »
Im looking for an original style 1969 antenna if anyone has an extra they are willing to part with and sell.  As far as I know none of the reproductions today are correct at the antenna base.  If anyone has one let me know....I have cash burning a hole in my pocket.

There is a new repro out that has the little "dimple" / tear drop shape to the black plastic nubbin at the antenna base.

I'm not sure that it is 100%, but it is better than the previous no-dimple ones.

*be sure to check the 2nd picture for a closeup of the base / dimple.

Marcus, let me know your thoughts on the new repro if you get a chance.

So you bought this exact one that Mike is talking about here?  Yes, its for a high level car I am trying to finish up here so would prefer an original antenna but if the reproduction is that good I would take it.  Let me know if this is one from Dallas is the same.

And yes, the cash....thankfully my wife doesn't read this forum.

The USA ones made by Daniel Carpenter Reproductions now have the teardrop black plastic piece in the base as original as I had Dan C. make this change earlier this year.
It is now the best on the market and USA made to boot. Also the 1969 Hood Lip Moldings made from the Ford Tooling in the USA are done and available. They are spot on.

Good to hear Monroe....I think that was a good part for Daniel to have made for these cars.  Plenty of them out there could use the correct part.  I will order one and see what it looks like.  I assume its the exact same one that Dallas Mustang is selling and mentioned in the previous posting in this thread.  Keep up the good work out there in NC!
