Thanks for the nice comments and yes, the car has had good care & upkeep and always garaged. The capacitive discharge ignition setup was installed in the late 1970s to extend the life of plugs and points; and it's kind of a nice period-piece in its own right. (With all of the engine accessories including the Thermactor, A/C and P/S system, spark plugs aren't the easiest to replace).
Engine, transmission and rear end have all been rebuilt over the years. Several times, my dad would take the job back and insist that the repair be done correctly. For example, the rear end ratio was noticeably different after a third member replacement; turns out, a lower ratio ring gear and pinion was fitted and he made the shop correct it to the original factory 2.80 gears.
