I'm looking for some original 65 firewall mat clips/pins. 3 or more. Thanks for any help.
Firewall pads differ with plant. Nice pins are being reproduced by carpenter

Which kind do you need? If I'm not mistaken there's at least two styles out there; one with serrations and the other with retainer "tangs."  If that makes any sense...  ;D

I will second that the Carpenter reproductions are very nice.  I've got them on my '66 fastback, and they were identical to the original clips.
Too much junk, too little time.

I didn't realize there were 2 styles. This is a Dearborn. I tried some reproductions (unknown manufacturer) and the small projecting clip section would not budge even with a hammer trying to install.

They can be a real pain to install.  In the past, I've had to have one person pressing on the head of the clip from inside the car, and another on the engine bay side, lightly pulling with a pair of pliers.  Careful, though, too much pressure on the pliers will bend or destroy the clip.  Again, this can be a real nightmare to do, especially if you're using the two prong clip.
Too much junk, too little time.

Per the Mustang Assembly manuals, 1964 and 1965 used 357036-S100 (AM0002 pg 7, AM0007 pg 7) which was a single pin type, and 1966 and 1967 used 377347-S2 (AM0012 pg 6, AM0017 pg 6) which was a multiple (12 ?) pin type. Pictures of both types with dimensions are shown in the AMK Guide To Ford Fasteners, pg 237. I strongly urge those making inquiries into hardware to get a copy of this book as well as getting a set of the Mustang Assembly Manuals for their car's year.
As to differences in types (are there more?), 66 San Jose built Mustangs used 377347-S2 based on cars I've worked on (Oct 65, Dec 65, Feb 66, Mar 66, Jun 66 (I think it was June)).
