Location of thermactor anti-backfire valve?
« on: March 27, 2010, 11:20:03 PM »
I have an S code 1967 mustang .  I am trying to replace the missing thermactor emission system.  I have collected all of the necessary parts, but have found two different possible locations for the anti-backfire valve.  one mounts on a bracket attached to the back of the passenger side head, and the the other mounts on the intake manifold behind the carb.   Which one of these would be correct?

It should be a two port valve mounted to a L shaped bracket  (sorry don't have a number right this minute) attached to the rear of the intake.

There are a couple of different configurations depending on when your car was built (like so many 67 details and running changes) so I hope you got all the right pieces for your specific car

thanks Jeff.  If I do have two different intake mounting brackets, I will check back.  Otherwise I will use the one I have .  Alan
