I'm just now getting into this detail as well with my son's Mach. Like Alan's, it is a late Sept., early Oct. Metuchen build (don't have the Marti handy). The left side is original including the fender and has the removable A and 1 to attached the Mach 1 cladding. The passenger's side has an NOS fender and NOS door from what appears to be an early side swipe accident. This side had the one piece cladding without the removable characters. Guess I have the best of both worlds.
To add, would the push nut to attach the early molding (behind the A and 1)be the same as the nut to attach the sport mirrors? I don't have a body assembly guide but the philips head screws and nut looked similar (I had to cut them off because the screw head was trashed and I couldn't remove the molding).
