Water Pump Rebuild
« on: July 15, 2014, 04:36:59 PM »
I am in need of a good water pump rebuilder.  Does anyone have a recommendation?  The car is in Arizona but I am willing to ship it to a reputable rebuilder.  It is for a C-Code 1966 Mustang. Thanks!

Check with your local NAPA store. The last one I had done cost $48 including shipping and got the same one back.

+1  Had mine done through NAPA and A1 Cardone rebuilt it.  They take a picture of when they receive it and send it back to you.

Same here.  I ended up mistakenly having a 351 Cleveland water pump rebuilt for my 351 Windsor, so I can't really comment on how the pump would've functioned.  It looked great, though; the workmanship looked really good.
Too much junk, too little time.

Thank you to everyone.  It looks like I have a few good choices to pick from.

Fred can be found more readily on the HiPo forum http://www.hipomustang.com/hpmx/ as member C6ZZKGT. He is more commonly known as the guy that restores centrifugal advance distributors used on HP Fords, but I think I got a water pump from him.

Fred is the one that does the crimped fuel pump rebuilds and has a nice stock of NOS parts.  Chuck at distributor dynamics does distributor rebuilds and calibration.

Fred Ballard would probably know someone. My guess too. He rebuilt our fuel pump and it's an amazing job that he did on it. He's fun to talk with too if you can catch him. Wealth of information.
