I have an extra C code stab bar, but it might be 7/8", will check it in this evening. Do you need all the brackets, or just the bar?

I find 10 69/70 15/16 bars to every 1 of the 67/68 15/16 bars. It is a competition suspension part. If you are very very lucky you may find one in a junk yard I guess. I would hesitate to bet on it.  Because of the rarity and the fact that they are used on all 67/68 Shelby's they typically command a proportionate sum more then the 69/70 15/16 bars which are used on all 69/70 Shelby's and Boss's.

If your C code came with competition suspension it would get the 15/16 bar. If it didn't get competition suspension it would get the much easier to find smaller bar.

+1 Theoretically possible but it would be interesting to know if any C code GT/GTA was actually ordered with the competition suspension option.

The "smaller bar" is technically plural.  The GT/GTA (non competition suspension) is a 7/8" bar, while the base Mustang is about 3/4" (don't remember the exact dimension and don't have one here at the moment)

Gimpy - what type of car are you trying to get correct?

The GT/GTA (non competition suspension) is a 7/8" bar, while the base Mustang is about 3/4" (don't remember the exact dimension and don't have one here at the moment)

I measured a base 289 C-code bar this morning. an 11/16" open end wrench slips right onto...

my GTA has a bar that a 7/8" open end fits right onto.

S-codes might weigh in with different sizes, John...How many part numbers does the MP catalog have?

From the 75 MPC (which explains the C9 substitution):

Part Number   Dia   200   289   289   289   289   390   390   428
Part Number   Dia   base   base   GT   comp   GT350   base   GT   GT500
C7WY-5482-A   3/4   X   X

C7WY-5482-C   7/8         X            X

C9ZZ-5482-E               X   X         X

C7WY-5482-B   3/4                  X

The interesting thing is that the base 390 has a different bar than the base 289, yet is the same 3/4" diameter.  Must be the shape?

But the GT 7/8" diameter bar is the same for 289 and 390.  Go figure.

Also there is nothing specified for the 390 with competition handling, but that would be the same as the others I presume.

The C9ZZ-5482-E bar diameter was not specified.

Feb 68 MPC (page) list things and measurements differently. Service replacement/part numbers are different (most likely same as used on the original assembly line rather than later pieces)

Comp suspension looks to be listed not as a 390 but as 67 maximum handling package. What would have been the same as the Shelby applications

Guess we should move the discussion to the 67-68 area rather than the WANTED section;)
