Rebuilding my PS ram and control valve...question

What color should these parts be when I'm done with them?

The ram is natural steel- The tube should look like a brand new piece of tubing with the darkened welds at the end,

The control valve is cast iron with a natural steel end plate and bare aluminum cap on the end.

Basically everything is natural - the differences in metals will provide a variance in tones and colors

Was the boot cover natural steel? What finish for the boot cover screws?

Though service replacements (NOS) are commonly seen in zinc dichromate I think the common current understanding is both where bare steel
