Hope this helps

Arrow should be the nut - same nut with one of the washers at 5 o'clock from that one

Picture is from a NOS radio kit

First, welcome to the forum (Jeff seems to have missed that). The nut you are looking for should be Ford p/n 355987-S36, 3/8-32 hex, 0.094T, 9/16 hex drive. AMK www.amkproducts.com does not carry it but it is a standard nut for at least Ford radios. Some radios use 4, two per shaft, one pair for the radio to the dash, the second pair for the outer bezel.

Thanks,  Great site !
Let me be more specific,  The radio bezel (woodgrain plastic panel) uses two screws at the top and two male plastic studs at the bottom that stab thru some sort of speed nut in the instrument panel frame below the heater controls.

Ok you have a picture

Not sure what a part number is going to do after all these years and could not find them listed in the MPC  maybe the assembly manual has a number listed - do you have a copy?

Check and the couple of 69 ones I have don't list it.  Might try a donor car or listing the need in the wanted area. Cougars would work also

Thanks, I was reluctant to remove this one ,It was a PITA and  I would have been up a creek had it broke in half.   No books around ( not my car just installing a dash wiring harness for a friend) .  Have an email out to Restorationspecialities I believe they have something similar , If I find one I'll post it here so others can find them.

A very nice company I had a chance to visit and get a tour from the owners.  They work with customers to reproduce parts (rubber, metal, fasteners) using existing (i.e. used) components.  For example, they had a customer who wanted a Toyota window rubber gasket that was no longer available.  Using what was left of the gasket and using 3D precise measurements, they worked with the customer until they had a precise duplicate of the original before selling it to the customer.  They often make several of that part, and put it on the shelf for future customers.

When I inquired about the large Mustang market, they didn't seem terribly interested in competing with all of the others out there making reproductions.  Nevertheless, if one wants somewhat unique fasteners, they may very well have it in stock.  Their warehouse was huge!  I was like a kid in a candy store!
