Topic: battery clamp bracket

Found a picture of a "Z" clamp for a battery on a 67, shown below.  I've looked at quite a few original cars and don't see these.  They might of course get tossed at the first battery change.  Can someone educate me as to their use (if used at all) in various 67-68 applications?  Thanks, John

You are right we rarely see them. I some times see the hole in the fender. I am not sure as to when they were used but I think it may have been only in certain plants. I would imagine that cars that got a export brace may have had them as it stabilized the battery on rough roads. I think NPD has or had a reproduction.

Found that pic from 7r01c177553 currently on eBay.  Again, no claim to originality, just a "drive by" observation.

Been following these for a while - still can't find a pattern

As Marty reported most of the time the only clue is the hole in the fender/inner fender of the car.

Not connected with only export cars though and not all Shelby's received them either

Maybe another look at the data - but right now I can't find a pattern

I haven't found a pattern ether . If it had a hole it should have one and if no hole it wasn't meant to have one.
