ID a camshaft...
« on: June 21, 2014, 04:53:58 PM »
Have a FoMoCo cam I bought long ago, was told was a 390GT/428.  It has the FoMoCo logo cast in it, and "40" cast in it near one end between two lobes.  A red stripe, or a red with lighter red right next to it, on one end.   Looking around saw references to light blue for the 390/428... no red.

Anyone know of a good reference to help ID the part?

Measured the lobes to get lift, did some simple benchtop degree measurements.

Looking for a chart of OEM cam shaft specs.  Can find some limited FE info, anyone know of sources I can compare to for others to see what this might be...???

Sorry no help here.  I do have some spec's from the 1988 FORD PERFORMACE book by Pat Ganahl.  Brian
