Original (non Halogen) headlights
« on: May 27, 2014, 11:36:19 AM »
Where can I locate the outer (low beam) headlights for a'69 mustang that are not halogen's? Most parts suppliers now only carry the halogens for the older cars.

Non-halogen, sealed beam headlamps have not been manufactured for a while now. Look on eBay for NOS Wagner or Westinghouse, etc.

Several Mustang suppliers (NPD for one) carry them, but at prices that are very high.

Are you trying to match other original bulbs? If you already have 3 other originals, is the (FoMoCo) logo at center etched? or embossed? There were 3 different suppliers in 1969, which were General Electric, Tung-Sol and Westinghouse. The reproductions only mimic the Westinghouse bulbs with the (FoMoCo) logo Embossed into the glass. The GE and TS bulbs had etched logos. The rest of the markings on a repro, such as supplier markings, will not match an original bulb. The originals are all date coded on the backside too.
