Did March of 1966 San Jose fastbacks have stencil markings on the underside of the fuel tank? Thanks.

Not always, the stencil may or may not be on an original tank and if there, it could be on the top, sides or bottom.

+1   Since we don't  the original distance between ink stampings there is no way to tell if ever tank should have had the stamp somewhere but from observations seen allot with not sign or clue that there was one on every tank.  A good judges should not looking for one but if one is visible then the details should all be correct

This detail as others have mentioned was not visible on a large percentage of tanks .Ether because the stencil is in a hard to see location or not on the metal at all. To understand better the stencil was stamped in a re occurring pattern along the length of the huge sheet of metal used in making the fuel tank. It was not intended to line up in a specific spot on every tank. It ended up random as sections were cut from the sheet. It is a interesting detail that some restorers over use IMO based on the frequency it is actually seen in the real world percentage wise.
