Routing of original PS hoses on '69 351W?
« on: April 01, 2014, 04:55:26 PM »
I'm working on replacing the power steering ram and control valve on my '69 Mach 1.  I'm using what I thought were the closest "reproduction" power steering hoses available, but I'm still not sure I have everything routed correctly.  Would anyone happen to have pictures of the original power steering setup?  I'm interested in what the hoses from the PS pump to the control valve look like, and how they're routed.  I'd like to make sure I have everything as close to original as possible.  This is on a '69 Mach 1, 351W, power steering, air, built early June 1969 at Metuchen.

Thanks for your help!

These are pictures of the lo mile '69 351 Mach 1 that Bob Perkins owns.  I hope it is OK with Bob if I post these?

Thanks, those pretty much confirm what I was afraid of.  The hoses I have are nothing like the originals.  Well, I might be able to get by with the upper hose that connects to the top fitting on the PS pump, but the lower hose is completely different.  Can anyone comment on the "best" repro's offered by NPD?  I really don't have time before Charlotte to try and hunt down NOS or good used.
