64 1/2 - 65 Mustang hubcap restoration
« on: March 18, 2014, 02:02:55 PM »
I have a gently used set of NOS 64 1/2 - 65 Mustang hubcaps(I know they are still considered used::). I have polished the metal portions of the hubcaps but the black has a faded look of  black/dark gray. Does anyone know how best to darken the painted areas up instead of trying to repaint??? Maybe a protectant like Armor-all would darken these?? I wanted to ask before I try. Thanks.

Usually just waxing them will make the black look good.

Before you do anything I would check into this further,
I have a few NOS hub caps that look the same as you describe,
I'm thinking thats the correct way they should be.
Would like to hear others comments on this.

Here are some pics of the current condition. They actually look more dark gray in person than in the pics.
