65 Shocks
« on: March 17, 2014, 09:09:34 PM »
So in preparation for next year's MCA show in Tucson I am going through the car changing things out to be more correct.  The car currently has Motorcraft shocks from either the 80's or early 90's.  Rear are silver with Motorcraft decals (I assume Motorcraft also engraved on them) and the front are the red colored Motorcraft shocks.  I know the ideal would be to have Autolite black shocks but no luck in finding the front ones.  I have a friend that works at NAPA who was able to find black Motorcraft shocks but they just have a decal (no engraving on them as far as I know).  Which would be best or acceptable at a mCA show?  Paint the ones in the car now black, knowing they are engraved or get the new ones that just have the Motorcraft decal?

Thanks,

Chris

how close in shape/design are the ones you have? strip them, fill the engraving & paint them......then pray the judges don't look too close.
