Thanks John; great document!
Couple questions:
(1) What do you mean when you say "IP"?
(2) It's my understanding that the bright yellow wire connectors attach to the emergency flasher, do you agree?
(3) I cannot tell what the clip looks like which is holding your emergency flasher....do you have a picture of that clip? Not the clip that holds the turn sig flasher.... the clip that holds the emergency flasher (blue flasher housing)
Sorry about that, IP is a TLA (two letter acronym) for Instrument Panel.
From the shop manual...
1. Turn signal flasher connected to wires 8 (orange-yellow stripe) and 44 (blue).
2. Emergency warning flasher connected to wires 383 (red-white stripe) and 385 (white-red stripe)
In my opinion, the wire colors are a safer bet to refer to than compared to the color of the insulation on the connectors.
So I'll have to amend my previous post and attachment - the emergency flasher is mounted behind the vertical support, while the turn signal flasher is mounted on the back of the IP.
The clip for the turn signal is built into the rear of the flasher unit - it snaps onto the IP.
Consider though that we are talking about November and December built cars, yours is later and the turn signal might be in a different location as discussed in the thread. I don't have a picture of that.
Finally, for the clamp that holds the emergency flasher, I looked through 50 pictures on 3 cars and can come real close, but no cigar. I think (room for correction as always) that the ground screw in the first picture below pulls double duty, and holds a clamp that we can't see in the picture. The second picture is with all the goodies removed.
Actually with the wire harnesses in place, and the AC in dash air vent tubes, getting a picture of that little bugger would be difficult.
I probably have one or two sitting around in a box...but that would be for another day.
