Topic: 1964 1/2 plastic seat belt retainers?

  In the midst of renewing my original 64 1/2 seat belts I have found that I misplaced (or lost  ) two of the four small plastic seat belt retainers that lock the "hook" type seat belt ends into the eyebolts. Does anyone know who might carry some of these?? I was told they were repro'd sometime ago but nothing is currently available. It's hard enough to find early style seat belts not to mention if they even would still have the plastic retainer for them. Please let me know of anyone that might have a few NOS, used, or even if you know a quick fix until I can find some. I would appreciate it! Thanks.

So far not much success in finding new or good used plastic retainers. I did happen to find these at the local hardware store. They are considered auto body fasteners. Black plastic and a much better fix then a pop rivet that I was thinking about doing. If anyone wants the exact size, I can get that info for you. They fit ok, not too tight but enough to hold the hooks together yet you can remove them with your finger nails. Best thing is that they are 40 cents each. Better than nothing, at least until I find correct ones.

Nothing that I have found. In the same boat as hen's teeth and frog hair! If you find them please post it!!! Black will have to do for now.

I got my pins for the alligator clips from Stewart at Python but that's been about 3 - 4 years ago, possibly they are NLA.

The plastic inserts like the originals were reproduced by Tarheel restorations a while back but no longer. You can get some from Python restorations but they are a bit different from originals.
