painting flasher light globes

The yellow/orange paint on my flasher (indicator) light globes has falked off. Can you repaint them or is it better to replace the globe?

Are you speaking of the front amber colored lenses? because if you are I'd just replace them, there are some very good reproductions on the market that even have the correct logos on them.

On a side note guys whats with the CLEAR lenses I'm seeing for sale??

Don't think in all my years and dozens of shows I've ever seen CLEAR lenses, even on an extremely early (64.5) car...

I might have been taking this 'preserving original parts' thing a bit too far.....

I'm happy with replacement globes.

Charles & Jeff may tell you a bit more about the ORIGINAL lenses than I can because I don't have any to compare with.
I understand that the originals/NOS had some sort of "frosting" inside the lens, not sure why though....

I have GREAT (to me) reproductions on my '65 K GT Convertible and am extremely happy with them.

If I were you I'd spend the $$ on the GOOD repros that have the "fomoco" logo on them.....

Still waiting for someone to explain to me the CLEAR versions that are on the market......

Again, never seen any on cars at shows, and I have been to a few shows, including Nationals and a Grand National.

"flasher light globes" to me indicates the bulb its self not the plastic lens.

From where I am coming from I personally have never seen a '65-'66 Mustang with "frosted" "painted" or otherwise colored BULBS behind either the tail light or park light lenses.
