Workers didn't like to see their welds fail, said Negstad, because the worker knew he wasn't doing his job properly and the supervisor was taking notes."
The tabs might have identified the inspector that was looking at these welds. Or it might have identified the workers that actually did the welding. If a weld failed on the S6 side of the chassis, they could go right back to that worker and let him know - short and sweet.
