Radiator Fan
« on: January 24, 2014, 02:16:55 PM »
I am fortunate to have a original Build Sheet for my 69 Mach 1.  That build sheet has been a great reference tool when researching the odds and ends of the car.  One large question mark has been the radiator fan.  This Build Sheet calls for a 9OE G fan.  I have been on the look out for this fan for a number of years now and have yet to find the fan, talk to an owner of one, or discover any hard facts regarding it.  I am pretty sure it is; a 6 blade, 18 & 1/4" and no clutch.  Not sure if it is a flex or rigid and it is probably a 'sandwiched' performance blade set up.  Just putting it out there to see what may come up.  Thanks,  Brian

Google is your friend-
http://www.428cobrajet.org/id-fan

I've also seen a Mercury Master Parts Catalog reference to a six-blade, 18.00" flex fan used on 1969 SCJ Cougars with engineering number C9OE-G (which was replaced by the C9OE-H (service part number C9OZ-8600-D) fan in November 1968). I've seen one build sheet that documents this fan being installed on an SCJ Mustang with a scheduled build date of September 13, 1968. The C9OE-H build sheets that I've seen have December 1968, January 1969, and September 1969 (that's in the 1970 model year), build dates, though I've also seen build sheets with C9ZE-E fans used later in the 1969 model year. The January 1969 C9OE-H build sheet is for a 1969 V-code SCJ Mustang.

Yes, thank you.  I have seen, read and been a part of that discussion on that site.  Does not answer any of my questions.  However, I did learn, from the CJ site, of another member with a car and build sheet with the 9OE-G fan call out.  Interestingly a San Jose car.  Brian

All the different components used on the 69 CJ can get confusing with the SCJ and CJ pieces

Looking through my collection of buildsheets I found that fan used on an early NJ SCJ  (9T02R108444) So we continue to see/find it as an early fan that was later replaced with a different one on those application

I don't recall seeing one but will keep my eyes peeled. Would guess it also has Torino and Ranchero applications during the same period
