There are typically a few sparkplugs with Part # B8A-12405-A sets for sale at any given time.  These seem to be the most commonly available variant of the BF42s.

Both part numbers were used at the Ford dealers, B8A-12405-A is the Ford part number
while BF42 was printed on the plug its the Autolite number (now Motorcraft) and can be used as well.
B8A-12405-A is not a variant of the BF42, its the same thing, you can find it printed on the box.

I'm looking for the correct spark plugs for a 1966 K-code build date of 23 Oct 1965 out of Metuchen.  Am I correct that they should be a BF-32?  The salesman at Green Sales Company in Cincinnati Ohio said so but haven't been able to verify.

Yes the correct heat range is BF32 .This info can be confirmed in the specification supplement to the 66 shop manual among others. The assemblyline plug would have a star on the insulator that the later versions do not have .

Wondering about this, so was the BF-32's for K-Codes and the BF-42's for standard V8's? I was just researching and searching the forum and came across another thread that all they talked about was the BF-42's, no mention of these BF-32's???

It's just I have a line on some original BF-42's, but I have a 66 K-Code and want to get the correct ones... also, anything I need to "watch out for" with original NOS spark plugs, they do have the original stars on the plug?

Not really sure of which "other thread" your referring to. It may have been solely focused on the standard small block application or the OP never identified their specific need or application 

Yes they would have originally had stars. Haven't found enough documentation to figure out the change over that related to the number of ribs. Those will be pretty much covered by the boots so its not going to likely be a discussion once installed.

With the current low octane gas, use a BF-42 on a 289HP for every type of driving, and put the BF-32 in for shows.

 I just purchased a box of NOS BF42 Powertip plugs. I know have an NOS set of each, one set with the Autolite Star logo, the other with the Powertip. Which would be correct for a July 1966 built, Dearborn 289 2V coupe?? Also, does anyone know when the Star logo type plug went away, and the Powertip came into being? Thx

Power tips came out later, so you need the star logo ones.
