Topic: Help Identification of two holes in sidewall of my engine bay 69 Mach1

Hi everyone,

on the driversside sidewall in the engine bay someone placed the emissions decal there to hide two holes. Yesterday i removed the decal and saw the two holes.
On the first picture you see the location of the emissions decal in my engine bay. The second shows a 69 boss engine bay with something installed on that position. Is this missing in may engine bay?
What is it? My car was built July 1969 in Metuchen.

  On the boss, thats your rev limiter by the looks of it. My CJ car has no holes in the apron in that location.

That "something" is the gutter that channels water away from the rev limiter, which is itself attached with three screws. I don't know why you would have the holes for the gutter without having a rev limiter, but who knows what happens over time.

My 69 conv has those too, but they are very small and have never had a screw in them.
I believe they were just guide or pilot holes for the assembly worker to know where they should go
