1964 1/2 260 3 speed driveshaft yoke

I have been working on redoing the driveshaft in my 64 1/2 coupe. I went to test fit it and it sounds like it is spinning over the rear transmission shaft. The transmission is an HEF BB with a May build. This shows to be correct and original for the car. The driveshaft came with the car and appeared to be correct, not installed though.The yoke has a casting of C3AA4868-G. What is the correct part number and spline for a 260 v8 and 3 speed? Thanks for any reply.

My reference has the 64.5 260 manual slip yoke as C2YY-4841-A, casting C2YA-4841-A.

Thanks midlife. I have tried searching those part numbes and dont seem to be having much luck. After i looked at my driveshaft it appears that the yoke is 28 spline and the tail shaft is 25 spline in the tranny. Would you know of any good resources who might have that correct yoke? Thanks again!

Finding correct slip yokes can be a pain.  15 years ago, only Mac Auto Parts carried the correct one for my 66.  They list a 25 spline yoke for the 170/200 engines...

My guess is that someone replaced your slip yoke from another application, possibly with the transmission?  By the way, the Ford Master Catalog doesn't list a 4868 part, so I'm not sure what this represents.

 I think the driveshaft was "thrown in" the car when I bought it. No biggy, I'll find the correct yoke. I have already found a couple but they are over $125. A little steep to me.. Thanks again!!

 Now another issue. So i purchased a 260 3 speed driveshaft yoke(63-64). Matches identical to the other yoke i replaced ( bearing cap size, outside snap rings, overall length, etc) with the exception that it is now the correct 25 spline instead of the 28 spline. I test fitted it into the tranny tail shaft and it is indeed a match.  I installed it on the driveshaft in place of the 28 spline yoke(that now appears to have been from a later 3.03 3 speed, 65 mustang?). But, when i go to install the driveshaft, the yoke will not go any further into the tranny and i need about another 1/2 inch or slightly more to get the u joint to go into the rear axle yoke.  I measured the drive shaft and it measures what my restoration book states as correct for 260/289 3 speed b4 DEC. 1964 as 50 25/32 ". Now, the car is raised up on dollies in the rear so i didn't jack the rear up any more. If i could install it with the car raised up, would it bottom out with suspension travel? I wouldn't want anything binding.  Any ideas what could be keeping the yoke from going any further into the tranny? When pushed all the way in, there is about 2" from the tail shaft seal to the base of the yoke. Does anyone know whats the correct distance for this? Thanks for any feedback. I guess if i had to i could get the driveshaft shortened by 1/2 or 3/4"? I,m sure that would be a good $100 for 1/2 "!
