Original 1969 Keys
« on: December 16, 2013, 04:39:05 PM »
Can anyone tell me if the original keys for a 1969 Mustang had an oval hole or a round hole? I have seen both key blank types advertised as either concours correct or NOS. Is there anything indicated on a key blank that you could verify it's NOS?

Thanks.

Don't know the history on these keys but they did come with the car.  All four keys have a capital ' A ' stamped into them and that, usually, is done by a locksmith when making duplicates.  Brian

Round hole is assemblyline 1969 correct.I think you can still get the large hole style from your locksmith and are a evolved replacement that   work better then the original small round whole but if historical correctness is your goal then the small round hole is what you want.

These are the original keys for our 69 Mach1. A little worn but still work great.
