67 289 PS Hose Bracket
« on: December 07, 2013, 05:13:06 PM »
I have a 67 Coupe with a 289 - putting it back together & trying to determine where the power steering hose bracket goes.

Thanks!
Jeff

Which one?  :)

The P/S hose indexing bracket attaches to the rear of the power steering pump.

There is also a hose holding bracket that attaches to the driver side engine frame stand. This one has a rubber isolator with two holes for holding both hoses.

There would also be a leather strap that held one hose, it attaches in front of the driver side shock tower.

When and where was your car built??

Allot of times this can effect these sort of details so its suggested (or your going to be answering this question allot ;) you add your cars info to your signature like many others here

As mentioned there can be a combination of brackets and straps

Will wait for your response

It was built in December of 1966 at Metuchen, NJ.  It is the bracket with the rubber insulator.

Thanks

Unfortunately NJ pictures are a bit more difficult to have due to the condition of most of those cars but I think this is what your looking for. I would suggest you also inspect the inside (towards the engine low on the inner mount surface) and the front of the driver side shock tower to see if your car was equipped with one or two of the reinforced rubber straps that the other two plant used

Hope this helps
