Is there anyway to find this out. I was hoping to research the ownership of this car thought it would interesting. Jeff, sounds like you're quite familiar with the area, any direction you could point me. Would there be any records with the local DMV. Would Stockton be the best area to start my search. .................
Unfortunately looking up old DMV records are near impossible between the anti- stalker laws and the fact that we have so many cars in the state they don't track stuff typically related to this sort of thing after 5 years. There have been many programs through the years the last was paying fro hand searches but from what I understand there were limitations to even that.. So I think 50 year old records from DMV in this state are going to be a long shot
Also dealerships (even if they were in business still - they are not) in this state typically didn't keep old record like other dealerships in other states did. Anything old gets tossed. Even old or NOS parts have always been difficult in any volume out here. Dealers would rather throw parts away than store and inventory parts - plenty of stories related to that.
As far as being local to me - grew up in Stockton - retired from the metro fire department - grew up in and belonged to a number of car clubs in that area since birth and have always lived within twelve miles of there so yes its local.
As I reported I've never seen that sort of emblem on any Eagal Ford sold vehicle I saw locally, in a wrecking yard or that came into the local (started and use to own part of the one in town) Mustang shop
But if you want to try Stockton would be the only place to start. Eagal Ford sold out maybe 20+ years ago and the area dealership (not connected in any way from my understanding) became Big Valley Ford. Believe the old owner was John Eagal.
