rear wheelhouse painted body color on april SJ car?

Bringing April 03 built CS home after 7 months in "paint jail" and wanted to affirm that this plant and time did in fact apply sound deadener to the rear wheelhouse before the vehicle was painted.  Car is Wimbledon white so as built and looking in the wheelhouse it should be primarily white over the black sound deadener.  Thanks!

Marty, thanks!  As for images, none yet of the vehicle at home since it is not here yet.  Have the front fenders, doors, front and rear modesty panels, front fenders extensions, side scoops and rear tail light panel at home.  Waiting for a rollback to bring the shell - maybe tomorrow.  Hood and deck lid are still unpainted along with rear quarter panel extensions, they will probably be ready for transport in about a week.  Painter went on a one week cruise before getting all of the parts refinished.  Used a single stage paint and it looks just wonderful and  is the correct shade of Wimbledon white (used the package tray area as a prime sample when mixing color.  Anxious to begin assembly, all parts are ready to go.

this is a really bad pic, but you can see the colour. the dark patch and line you can see and the bit a a line, was where a scratched some back. its all red oxide primer under there.

Wimbledon White with Parchment Bench seat,
Visibility Group, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Selectaire Conditioner, AM radio, Heavy Duty suspension, Deluxe Belts, Deluxe Wheel Covers, 3.00:1 rear.

Unique 1 of 1 car. Just like every other car...

Yes, yes yes ;)  Just like in the trunk

Remember that the exposed frame rail, gas tank drop, rear end bumper bracket  from the inside of the wheel well all received a nice coat of paint originally as the painter moved the spray gun across the opening spraying all the time (in addition the wheel lip paint application)

Sound deadener should not stop at the bottom edge of the wheelwell either (no magic sound deeadener)  if the sound deadener reached the bottom edge then there was sound deadner on the frame behind it (consideration should be giver to the shadow the edge produced but the sound deadner was applied from below the car not from the side of the car.


When you add the pinch weld black out you'll have "blow outs" at the beginning and trailing edges of the wheelwell as that lower pressure gun stopped and began its pass

Unfortunately on original examples the paint over the sound deadener often gets removed and or covered with grim, dirt, mud and grease - plus just simply wear :(
