Fastback Vent Slides: Attaching hardware (screws) ID help, please?
« on: September 11, 2013, 01:57:58 PM »
Guys, I seem to have made a huge mistake and misplaced the screws that attach the vent sides (chrome) to the plastic vent assemblies. Therefore, I don't even know what screws I am looking for. Attached below is a picture of a pair of repro vent slides and screws which should help convey the screws I am looking for. Can anyone comment or provide a picture of what the original type screws look like? Where can I obtain these screws? I don't see them listed, but does AMK sell them? Are they machine screws or more like self-tapping sheet metal screws? phosphate? Zinc? Washer head type? Help? :-)

See if this don't help. A picture is worth a thousand words; this drawing is worth more because it has part numbers.

Thanks Jim! Yes, part number 355067-S7 represents one of the two screws I'm looking for. Now I just have to figure out what the finish of that fastener is and try to track some down. Is "S7" the finish code?

I found one of these screws still threaded into a spare chrome slider I had laying around. It's a 10-16 tapping screw, 0.750" long with a hex washer head (5/16" across flats). Looking inside the holes of the chrome slider, it does appear the threads were cut with tapping screws, not machine screw threads. Can anyone confirm this is correct?
