67 deluxe door holes
« on: September 07, 2013, 07:00:46 PM »
I noticed today on a December 67 Dearborn car with interior decor, no speakers, that the mounting holes for the lower door grills were not the typical square hole with white plastic insert like I see on San Jose built cars all the time.  The screws go directly through the sheet metal, the holes are round.

To add intrigue, there are three square punched holes to support the light, one large one for the body and two smaller ones for mounting.

There is no doubt in my mind that these doors are original to the car.  The door tag does confirm the interior decor option.

Has anyone else observed this?

The top picture is an SJ door, typical of many I've had, have, seen, and so on.
The bottom picture is the DAP door.
