Trunk Area - Spare Tire Mounting
« on: September 04, 2013, 05:34:37 PM »
Hello Everyone,

I recently purchased a 67 but I'm finding lots of things incorrect.  Previously I owned a '66 Fastback and the spare tire mounting bolt had a clip for the bold to anchor the tire down
however my '67 Fastback does not have the clip for the bolt to go through but it does have a hole there.  Was wondering if anyone can shed some light on mounting the spare in a '67 FB or
will I have to replace the trunk floor panel?

Thanks in advance,
Rus

You should have a bracket like shown in the picture below.  The "repop" is inaccurate in a few ways unfortunately but can be modified.

That is not correct.  Some more pictures below.

Also looked in NPD catalog but did not find one.  Probably going to need to find a donor.  Should be relatively easy - every Mustang got one.

If you need help finding one, put a "wanted" post for it.
