I know that there are some details that are not correct for example the bypass hose shows C2... I think it should be the Autolite hose. It was not possible to put a factory original band clamp around it without damaging the hose.
Originally the hose and clamps would have been painted engine blue as they were in place at that time so we would not expect no C2, Autolite or any other markings to be seen.
The hose clamp you got (likely in a kit) was likely an early style since those are smaller - in 69 the diameter was increased along with the hose
But this engine bay is the best i could do here in Germany. I think its the most concourse correct Mach 1 in Europe.
That was the reason for the other question as I think with very little work you can make it even better
I will ignore some details since your not likely going to go out and replate a dozen bolts and other hardware given your situation. At this point its easy to understand your not going to go back and try to weld up the holes added by a PO to lube the upper Arms through the shock tower walls.
What you might consider at some point is
- The PS color is not very close and the front pump and the housing were together when the unit was painted (rear tag and nut also) so eacch would be painted.
- You purchased one of the typical decal kits which included a number of decals that never came on your car. The Caution Fan, FRONT and the one on the snorkel don't belong on your car. The one on the drivers side inner fender (in front of the shock tower) should be on the drivers side valve cover behind the breather so it can be read from the front of the engine
- You purchased a kit for the short fuel line (guessing it came with the right clamps) but didn't get the same for the fuel pump to fuel line next to the PS pump
- PCV to hose clamp should be a wire clamp
- Dip stick should be bare metal (shaped differently from the one you have) The dip stick tube would have been painted robin egg blue and the transmission would not be painted.
- Since you have a late car the cowl section above the firewall would have been painted black as you have it but the black at the outer edges would have extended under the cowl cover and fenders - not body color there.
- The buck tag was attached to the car when the black engine compartment was applied so it and the mounting screw would be black
- You've added Pertronixs (s?) but none of the wires passed through a wire retaining clip on the passenger valve cover. Multiple ones were used under the top valve cover bolts on the drivers side
- Master cylinder cap and bale were painted black with the rest of the brake cylinder and PB booster.
- There is a little white clip that was tapped to the wiper motor wires and attaches to the bracket formed into the cowl to firewall pinch weld on the drivers side. Think it will be a challenge to find one over there
Just wanted to mention if
Not sure what the wire/hose is that is coming out of the hole above the AC on the firewall. Its in one picture but not others. That hole wasn't used (filled with black sealer) on AC cars only non- AC ones.
That is about it for the easy (mostly) quick improvements that can be considered. A few hours a few spray cans of paint and you've knocked out most of them
Good luck with the car and thanks for participating in the forum.
