Assuming you are interested in "factory" options and not "dealer installed".

Here are some links that I found.  No claim of completeness

Also consider that the options available would depend on what month of the year your researching. For example the GT option would not be an option in October 64 but would be in June 65

So the lists we see on the internet don't always include when the information was taken from :(   also sometimes options are published to the dealers or public but really were not available at the time or never were. One example would be drag packs in early 69 or 427 engines in 68. Both were included in ads and brochures .........:(   Can't always believe what you read

Nothing is easy ;)

i got a question about dealer options:
could the customer order everything, that was possible (f.e. fog lights without the GT-Option?) or was there also only a limited list of options - i'm asking because f.e. the 1966 mustang facts book shows three rows of different options (Regular Production Option, Limited Production Option, Dealer Installed Option) and there are no fog lights listed.

Jeff, I assume you meant Oct of 64.  Here is a question though, could an owner back in the day who bought a car in October of 64 go back to the dealer 6 months later and add fog lights to his car?

Yes - typo that has been corrected

Yes Ford even ran an ad suggesting owners bring their cars back end to make them look like the new GT . I've seen and  owned a few 65 where the owner did that but never found one that had everything (would have been much cheaper to buy a new car) changed. Though we do find many cars in the late 70's were the owner altered the car making them "GT"s using original parts from donor cars.

On the cars that were updated. grill lights appear IMHO to have been the most popular and one of the easiest  things to add. All of the ones I've seen had the wires run over the radiator support rather than routed like the factory done cars. Remember having some of these in about 1974-5

But of course none of this makes for a factory GT nor would the addition of these parts be accepted at almost any judged event except small local ones maybe ;)
