69 deluxe interior glove box light
« on: August 20, 2013, 03:08:37 PM »
I wanted to install the glove box light and switch i bought from Westcoastcougar, but i dont know where it mounts.
Originally my car was ordered with the visibility group. The map light and the glove box light was missing.
Now i bought everything but have no clue where the switch and the glove box light mount.
Anyone have some pictures? Would be very useful.

Thank you

regards

Christopher

Hope I am understanding the question ?  When pushing the button to open the dash glove box the map light and switch location is just above your hand.  Brian

Hi Brian,

i found out that the switch goes through the hole under the left rubber where the glove box door meets the dash.
The map light will be installed inside the woodgrain clock panel. There i see the hole. But, where does the glove box light mount? See the picture.

That is not the correct light and there is no place to attach it.  The glove box does not have a interior light.  The glove box/map light will fit in the location I described.  My opinion.     I suggest you search epay for a 1969 Mustang glove box map light just to see what they look like.   Brian

We are sorry that it isn't compatible with your Mustang. This is where it mounts to the dash panel on the Cougars.

Thank you all for the nice pictures. I thought that the deluxe interior with the visibility group package included both, the map light and the glove box light. Was it only in Cougars then? West Coast Classic Cougar sells the parts as 69 Cougar/Mustang.
When you look at the wiring of the map light there is one single female connector which normally connects to the glove box light.

Thank you a lot

greets

Christopher

Ahh, i think i understand now. The single female connector on the map light harness connects to the glove box switch. When the glove box is opened the map light turns on. When not opened i can turn on the map light manually with that little black switch.
Right? So no additional glove box light like shown on my picture.
