Vinyl Covered Hardtop Roof
« on: August 06, 2013, 09:04:17 PM »
Does anyone know if this option was offered in April of 64 or was it a later date? Considering putting one on my June 64 built D code coupe.

Not sure of the intro date for vinyl tops, but you should know that the rear quarter to roof area has an indention on factory vinyl top cars.  This indention allows the chrome molding to fit nicer.  You can always tell the cars that have had a vinyl top added as there is a big gap between the rear window molding and the chrome vinyl top molding.  Personally, I would not add it to a car that didn't have one.  It's not an easy change to reverse.
