deciphering a vin number
« on: July 04, 2013, 12:51:45 AM »
Hello,
I am new to this forum and recently purchased a 66 mustang coupe.  I am hoping someone could help me out with understanding the vin on my car to learn more about it as I start the process of restoring it.  Specifically where it was built and the date of manufacture.  what color it was originally, the interior trim, motor, trans, etc.  any input would be greatly appreciated.  The vin number is 6R07C157645.  body-65A, color 5, trim 26, date 25A, dso 71, axle 6, trans 6.  Thank you...
