Fuel pump dates
« on: June 15, 2013, 04:45:41 AM »
How far before the engine built date stamp should a fuel pump be dated from an original car?

i understand that the specific date is not a judged item as long as the fuel pump is the right one, however i ended up finding a fuel pump dated between my date correct block casting date, and the date stamp near cyl 1 that the engine was completed. i assume that the date of the pump may be a little late, but i just wanted to ask how closely were fuel pumps dated to block casting dates?

Took me a long time to find a correctly dated fuel pump for late 67 built 68, but one finally popped up on ebay.

Cheers

can be 2 weeks to 3+ months from what I've seen. Dont forget late 67 is strike affected so pumps aug/sept are realistic for nov/dec build. my 12/1 build had original pump from sept

cheers Tim, I thought so.

cant be too many unrestored cars running around on their original fuel pump to compare with these days.
