FB Coat hook location
« on: June 01, 2013, 08:16:36 PM »
Silly question. But.  Where are the coat hooks located on a '65 SJ fastback? I have the head liner out, but found no reference in the interior assembly manual.
Thanks!

The Fastback coat hook installation is documented in the Body Manual, AM0011 page 51.

Well that explains it. That is the one manual that I do not have - yet!
Thanks Jim, I'll go and search for the manual. Although I'll probably have a problem finding any holes as the body shop sealed most of those up.....

Don't believe that they put coat hooks in on 65 fastbacks
but did in 66. Don't have them in mine.

Ooops, the 65 reference is AM0006 page 55. I got both 65 and 66 books on my desk open for some research.

On my car the coat hook screw center is 2 &1/4" forward of the sail panel and 1 &1/8" up from the windlace.  Should get you into the right area ?  Brian

Thank you Brian!
I did go back and found what may have been a hole close to location you described, but it was welded over.  So... I work it out

Sorry I missed this earlier - as mentioned early Fastbacks didn't have the coat hooks while later ones did ;)

Thanks Jeff,
I have a Oct 64 Dearborn fastback which would be considered early and don't have coat hooks,
what month in the 65 model year did they start putting coat hooks in?

Just checking so I can answer as best possible - which plant?

Don't have allot of pictures  of that area on 65's -so not allot of data points but will look through the collection as at least try to provide a rough range.

The Jan '65 Dearborn K code fastback I had didn't have coat-hooks, no holes for them either.
