1970 ac condensor brackets
« on: May 25, 2013, 09:59:13 PM »
Were screws or rivets used to attach the brackets to the condensor body that alllow you to mount the condenser on the core support. My brackets were riveted to the condenser body which fixes it in place and does not allow for adjustment, so I wondered if this was a PO modification and they should be screws. And either way, are they painted with the assembly? Car is a Q-code, built in Dearborn. Thanks!!

My best guess based on memory and pictures

Condenser to radiator support - hex headed screws similar in style to the voltage regulator and starter relay but phosphate and oil

Drier to condenser - shoulder/intergrated washer headed  phillps screws is what I'm seeing in the picture

Examples below show the hardware has been painted black over by PO's - don't forget that drivers side horn spacer ;)   mounting bolts for those appear to face different directions normally depending on assembly plant

Hope this helps
