With the 97th running of the Indy 500 coming up this weekend, I thought it might be fun to take a look back at some of the photos my uncle took at 63rd Indy 500 in 1979.  Most members of this forum are probably more interested in the Pace Car than the actual race, but it's still fun to see a few of the big names in USAC/CART racing from that era...

This first batch of photos is from the 500 Festival Parade that took place on May 26, 1979:

I was a member of the local Mustang club and
our club had cars in the parade as well.
I drove my 73 red convertible in it, went to
the race and then bought a new Pace car
which I still have.
