i just found this site and this is my first post!!

i have two questions -

In my1965 GT, there is a cardboard type box under the dash on the passenger side.  The box was covering the wiper mechanism and was fastened to the air vent below the dash.   Is this piece reproduced?

Can anyone recommend a good place to restore my wood-grain steering wheel?

Welcome to the forum. In answer to your question, I think you are referring to the left hand side (aka driver's) and it's called a wiper arm shield, sold by (at least one vendor) Virginia Classic Mustang ( www.virginiaclassicmustang.com ) under part number EG-428, $6.95. The wood grain wheel restoration quandary is one of the topics on this (and other forums) so try this forum's search engine (top right hand side of the page). I don't think that the wheel restoration has been completely resolved.
And post some pictures too.
