1966 200 six Carbs

1966 200 six

The carb on this engine is a Holley 1V. Did Ford use Holley, Carter and Autolite carbs on these engines or just the Autolite 1100?
The numbers on the Holley carb seem to me to be Ford numbers. Here they are:

On the side near the accel pump #6R3685B
                                                            A-6

On the accel pump # 34R-5008B

On the linkage side #4694-2
                                    9796

If this is the original carb, I'd like to have it rebuilt. Anyone have a link for a rebuilder?

Also, where did Ford put the casting numbers/ID numbers on the hood? The hood I'm working with may be a
reproduction since I can't seem to find any numbering on it.

Thanks
Jeff

the only #'s on the hood are the date codes. you should have an autolite 1100 carb on the six. try here for rebuilder. http://www.carbontooters.com

Don't believe any early 6 cylinder Mustangs used a Holley -  just Autolite's as mentioned

For the years of 1963-1969 Ford used the Autolite 1100 only. They did use a Holley 1940 as a replacement in 1970. 1968 and 69 are different from the 63-67 1100 due to the change of the distributor. Both series of carbs work well, but the 1940 does not get very good fuel economy in comparison to the 1100. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the confirmation  didn't think the Holleys were used originally ;)

Do you have a automatic or manual trans?
There were two different 1100's used on the 66 200

M/T used a single diaphram
A/T used dual diaphram

Here is a picture of the A/T version with the SCV
MCA # 00945

65 Fastback, 6 cyl, AT, AC, PS, PB

And four different numbers depending on trans and if it came with Thermactor ;)

Don't believe any early 6 cylinder Mustangs used a Holley -  just Autolite's as mentioned

Today, I found the following for the Holley 1V carb. According to the reference book Mustang 1964.5 to 1973 Restoration Guide, Copyright  1998 Corcoran/Davis on page199 shows that the Holley Carb was used in 1965/1967 on the 200 six cylinder.
Year     CID     Type     ID                Part #
65/67   200     H-1       D0PF-K        D0PZ-9510-A

Since the designation 1965/1967 was used, does this mean that 1966 is not included?
There are quite a few listings for the Autolite, Holley and Carter for carbs used on the 200 six.

The reading of this chart shows that the 66 was listed separately and it shows 1966/1967 and 1966/1969.
I would then assume that the Holley I have is for a 1965/1967 200 six.

look at those p/n's. they are for 1970. holley carb was used as a service replacement. you need the correct 1100.

I agree...so why would they (authors) list them in the book as original or at least state they are service replacements?
