Convertible boot cover color?
« on: April 08, 2013, 11:23:37 PM »
I don't recall ever seeing this explained before, apologies if I simply missed it .... was there a rule of thumb determining the color of the vinyl convertible boot cover? Did the factory supply anything other than black or white in 1965-1973?

It is my belief that Ford color-keyed the boots to the interior color.

It is also my belief that they (in the case of a two-tone interior supplied a boot in the most prevellent interior color.

Some of the weird Greens in the 71-3s may have been different.....

Yes, typically color-keyed to the interior.
