Tires
« on: March 28, 2013, 11:09:05 PM »
I've been trying to find radial tires for my 66 convertible and I am not finding a lot out there, especially white walls. Does anyone have any recommendations on brand, size and a supplier? What are all of you using? I want to use my stock 14inch wheels.

Thanks: John

I purchased a set of 14"white wall radials for my 66 convertible from Coker Tire. they were the American Classic Series with narrow white wall.

There are some uniroyal whitewall tires out there in a decent size.  Getting very hard to find.  The Firestone FR380 was a great looking tire with whitewall, but has been discontinued from what I understand.

Thanks Guys:  I have located some Mastercraft tires. I'm thinking of going with  the  205/75R14's, they are just a little larger in diameter than
the originals but shouldn't throw my speedometer off by to much.  What do you guys think?  The Coker tires are a bit out of my price range. Will
search for the Uniroyals as well.

I use P225/60R14 Cooper tires on my 66 Hardtop daily driver with stock suspension. They are mounted on 67 Style Steel Wheels. No fit problems at all.

I have a set of Mastercrafts on my 68, the sidewall is nice and smooth, whitewall and tread looks proper, these look better than the FR380 firestones
