I am restoring the distributor in my July mid July 1964 built 260 Automatic Coupe. The distributor has the lubrication cap going into the side of the shaft. Is there some sort of material inside this shaft that is designed to prevent oil from leaking out of this tube? The tube seems to be blocked and before I remove the material I am curious if something is supposed to be there.
Secondly, the original Vacuum diaphragm has a tear in it. The diaphragm is not serviceable and the aftermarket part looks nothing like the original equipment part. Anyone have any suggestions?
