The part number is 378771-S100 but it is not reproduced. From my notes, it was used on 65 and 66 289CID engines' alternators, and 1969 302, 351W, 390, 428 and Boss 429 engines as well. A different one was used in 1967 and 68, and not used on any I-6 engibes' alternator. The service replacement is different yet and does not specifully reference 65-66 Mustangs. The best I can do is give you my description and measurments - it is a stamped steel clamp with a plastic insulator - 1.437Long, 0.492Wide, 0.032Thk metal, 0.079Thk plastic, 0.384Dia clamp range, 0.208/0.267Dia Hole.

Seems like I remember seeing this clip in all plastic, not metal dipped.

Some pictures I took yesterday of the back of my alternators showing the clip. The first is from my May 65, San Jose GT Fastback. The second is from my Oct 65, San Jose GT Fastback "K". There are differences.

Went and took a look at my 65 and its the same as Jim's including the static suppressor.  Seems to have a bit of black plastic  just below the nut.  The one on my 69 looks like the deadnuts version.  Brian

Could you take some measurments, length, width at mtg hole, dia of loop, thickness, dia of mounting hole. This item is not documented anywhere I could find except in application. Those measurments might help someone trying to identify an original or replacement clamp.

What's the difference between that clip and say the clip that holds the sight glass hose to the shock tower?  Almost looks the same...Different diameter?

If I remember right, the hose that connects to the sight glass has a clamp formed a little differently and a little shorter.
