Sequence number versus production number
« on: December 05, 2012, 10:42:10 AM »
I was told that my #89 car was actually built at LAX in the 25th position. I believe my car was built during the Sept. Oct. time period. Where is this information found and can it reflect design changes on the car?

Not sure how someone figured out what its place in line was at SA (not that its really important

Easiest thing would be to get a Marti report on the car as that will tell you when the car was finished at San Jose. AN din turn give you a place where you can compare that date to the Ford changes. From the VIN (which normally is off as much as three weeks either way) the car's door tag would have likely had the date of Oct 22nd on it.

With this it will also give you the DSO that will give you when the car got to SA and the Shelby time.

As for a list of the Ford and Shelby changes I don't know of an established Ford list But the SAAC site had a thread from over a year ago that attempted to list many of the Shelby changes

Hi Again,
Just looking through some notes and suggest you look closely for cars like #0082 and #0086 built a day before and a day after your car #0089
in the same color. The numbers are not as critical as the date(s) in many cases, and the car color. They were very busy and it showed up in more ways than one.Send a PM If you need to talk & include your phone number-we can discuss all that you question.
   Merry  Christmas  !!!

Hello RR,
Thanks very much for your reply. I am fascinated with the early cars and their pre Ford management. It seems like a different world when only Shelby production guys controlled the process. I will contact you and thanks.
