Head Lamp chrome Ring Screws
« on: November 29, 2012, 11:53:44 AM »
What is the correct screw or fastener that was used on 1967 Gt 350's to secure the chrome head lamp rings?

Someone along the way changed out the headlight rings (common "improvement") to chrome ones as very early cars typically were delivered with painted (body color for the outer headlights - black for the inners) head light rings
Here is how your cars headlight rings were attached when you got it

Asked Bob to check in and comment ;)

Thanks Jeff. I do have some nos rings that I would like to paint black and nightmist blue. Would this be appropriate for my car or do you believe it came with chrome rings? I know it must be almost impossible to tell unless the cut off number for this painted ring feature was below #89.

i would say you were safe on the body color painted rings. BTW  if you were back in the day at SA you would probably see a few cars built shortly after#89  that had the chrome rings.

OK, thanks. I am going to go ahead with painted rings. Were the screws also painted to match the ring colors?

Not typically.
