Topic: Build Date/Engine Date Question

Maybe a dumb question but if the build date shown on my door's data plate is 31C(does this indicate Mar 31, 1966), why is the date on my engine 6G18Z(and what do these numbers/letter mean?) I am the second owner of this car - my neighbour bought it new in the spring of 1966. My VIN is 6F07T3038...... Please advise and thanks for your time.

6G18 is most likely 6C18, which would fit with the 31C scheduled date.  Check other components on the engine to get more dates.
