65 289 Power Steering hoses
« on: October 18, 2012, 10:24:53 PM »
Anyone have a good pic on how the orientation of the power steering lines are at the control valve?  Want to make sure I have the lines routed properly so it doesn't rub against anything....Thanks

I have a '68 289 which is unrestored original, I thought they were the same for these years. (?) Below is a sampling from the bunch pictures I took that might help you. All I did with it was wipe it all down with WD40. Hope it helps.

Per our PMs, the picture numbers 011 and 013 are of the pressure and return lines to the PS pump. I will add two more below. I found it hard to get a picture from the front because the cylinder is in the way.  I can attempt some more pictures from the front tomorrow and post them on Wednesday.

Took pictures from the front, still don't think this is not the best angle. Got more from the side and back and looking straight up from the bottom.

took one picture of the bottom of the power steering pump looking up from underneath the car. evident is the pump's color and paint quality. The vendor did not match the Ford blue and the paint was done sloppy as to have paint runs.

if by not matching the ford blue you mean the engine color? if so then it should not be the same color as the engine. p.s. pumps are either black or teal depending on the manufacturer.

yes, the pumps did not match the engine color. Bob Perkins has nick-named it slop blue in his articles in MM.
